WORK WEEK - 4/10 SCHEDULE!
Flexibility to work Swing shift as needed!!Summary:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on a variety of industrial mechanical equipment in a Food Manufacturing setting. To work independently to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on various rice milling equipment such as elevating, conveying, and pneumatic systems. This position is intended to preemptively inspect and monitor equipment to ensure uninterrupted operation of equipment. Perform general maintenance duties such as basic troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment problems with limited supervision. Skills should include ability to read and decipher operating manuals, use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Knowledge of common industrial shop equipment. Essential Functions- Use equipment manuals as reference material for necessary service inspections and troubleshooting instructions.
- Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of potential malfunctions.
- Perform preventitve maintenance (PM's) on all Mill equipment to prevent possible mechanical failure.
- Change worn out machine parts before they can cause mechanical damage.
- Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem area, using hand tools and power tools.
- Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
- Remove and replace working or defective parts using hand tools and power tools and following blueprints, diagrams, and service manuals.
- Realign and adjust components, using hand tools and follow diagrams.
- Locate damaged air hoses or fittings on pipes and machines.
- In coordination with mill employees; start machines and equipment to test operation following repairs.
- Complete assigned preventive maintenance work orders.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of machinery operations.
- Skill to use a work issued computer and various software packages.
- Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot using equipment drawings and technical data.
- Ability to maintain equipment.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
- Establish and maintain permanent files.
- Must have knowledge and experience operating a Powered Industrial Truck (forklift).
- The ability to organize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines.
- The ability to learn and apply new technology, with the willingness to share knowledge with others.
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral/written instructions.
- Ability to apply common sense to work performed.
- Ability to communicate with others effectively. Education and Experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Welding Certifications a plus.
- Proficient at fabrication and welding desired.
- Prefer two (2) years' experience of industrial maintenance and mechanical maintenance.
- Prefer two (2) years' experience performing maintenance and repairs of mechanical systems in an industrial setting.
