Job Description

About the Role This is a hands-on labor position at a small, independently run boatyard. You'll be working directly with the owner and occasionally alongside contractors—not part of a large crew. We're looking for someone reliable who can become a go-to right-hand person at the yard. This role is best suited for someone who can stay productive without constant supervision and takes pride in getting things done. This position offers the opportunity to learn mechanical, equipment, and basic boat repair skills over time. Responsibilities Maintain and organize the boatyard and facility Move boats and trailers using a forklift (training provided if needed) Assist with boat demolition and disposal projects Perform general labor tasks including lifting, hauling, and cleanup Prep and paint boats and equipment Perform basic equipment and vehicle maintenance: Boatyard equipment upkeep Truck oil changes Trailer bearing service Forklift maintenance and general upkeep Keep the yard clean, safe, and efficient Requirements Must have basic mechanical knowledge and experience using common tools (wrenches, sockets, drills, grinders, etc.) Comfortable working with hands and tools on a daily basis Able to work independently without constant supervision Strong work ethic and reliable attendance Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work outdoors Reliable transportation required Preferred (Not Required) Experience with forklifts or heavy equipment Background in construction, automotive, landscaping, or mechanical work Familiarity with trailers, bearings, or basic maintenance tasks What You'll Get $20-$25/hour starting pay ( Occasional bonus pay on repair jobs ) Consistent weekday schedule (no weekends) Opportunity for additional hours as jobs and workload increase Work directly with the owner—no corporate structure Access to tools and equipment at the yard Opportunity to learn real-world mechanical and marine skills. • How to Apply Reply with your work experience and availability.
