Maintenance Worker
Job Description
Support the landscape and maintenance departments in the regular ongoing maintenance of the entire campus and occasionally working on special projects. Work an assigned area with specific tasks to be completed each week. Must be able to work independently, follow safety protocols, and be self-motivated. Position reports to the landscape and maintenance lead, under the direction of the facilities manager. Employees must be able to meet the following physical requirements. Lifting and Carrying Lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Carry bags of soil, mulch, and stones. Load and unload heavy gear. Body Movement Stand, walk, and climb for long hours. Bend, stoop, twist, and kneel. Reach overhead to trim trees and bushes. Hand and Arm Work Use hand tools like shovels and rakes. Operate heavy power tools like mowers and trimmers. Grip handles tightly for long periods. Environment and Safety Work outside in high heat and sun. Tolerate loud noise and dust. Wear heavy safety gear like long pants, boots and glasses.
