Job Description
The Transfer Station Worker/Maintenance Helper is responsible for safely unloading all waste from trucks and ensuring the waste is properly weighed, scanned and stored for processing in a productive and safe manner complying with company policies and procedures and will also assist the Lead Mechanic in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems. Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Unload waste from trucks coming into transfer station and separate autoclavable from non-autoclavable and by waste type; separate, count and weigh containers by materials for each customer. Load carts with waste for autoclave processing and or prepare non-autoclaveable waste for incineration. Place containers in tub wash for decontamination; inspects sanitized containers, stacks and loads to company vehicles. Plant maintenance assistance includes but not limited to: clean-up spills; remove debris and wash floors and equipment. Assists in other areas as directed by management. Assist Lead Mechanic in the diagnosis and repair of mechanical issues. Perform routine maintenance work such as oil changes and tire rotations. Help with the replacement of vehicle parts such as brakes, belts, and hoses. Clean and lubricate equipment, tools, and machinery. Conduct inspections to identify necessary repairs or preventative maintenance. Maintain clean and organized work area. We offer vacation, sick pay, health insurance benefits, clothing and equipment.
Job Requirements:
