Under the management of the Director of Engineering/Facilities, the Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of semi-skilled duties in the repair, servicing and general maintenance of the Medical Center's physical plant and equipment to accomplish the objectives of the department.Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in Facility Maintenance 1. Repairs minor problems i.e. light replacement, replacing fixtures, etc. 2. Perform building maintenance repairs including such duties as basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical. 3. Assist in other areas as assigned. 4. Organize work and establish priorities 5. Take initiative to expand performance of duties Ensures Safe Work Environment 1. Maintain a clean work area. 2. Reports equipment and areas in need of repair to Supervisor. Computer/Customer Support 1. Log time & supplies appropriately on Work Order System. 2. Assists callers with Engineering trouble call hotline, and inputs work order into Work Order System.Non-Essential Duties:
Make routine building rounds of the facility, medical office buildings, physical plant and other offsite buildings. Learn basic computer skills.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge Knowledge of the uses of the more common hand tools. Knowledge of all painting tools and equipment. Knowledge of painting materials. Knowledge of the safety issues related to painting products. Knowledge of wall repair of drywall, plastered, stucco and other types. Knowledge of different types of paints as required by applications. Knowledge of the use and proper safe handling of common hand power tools Skills Operate hand tools Operate power tools to perform job.
