Full Job Description Summary:
The Maintenance City Foreman is responsible for landscape maintenance projects for American Landscape and Maintenance, Inc. The Maintenance Foreman is also responsible for providing guidance to maintenance crews in order to assure the proper, efficient and timely completion of assigned maintenance service projects. This is a working supervisor position.
Job Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise activities of workers Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws. Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers. Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls. Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes. Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws. Gather and remove litter. Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders. Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, or other grounds features. This is a working supervisor position.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of plants Ability to effectively communicate present information and respond to questions, both verbal and written. Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision. Ability to work independently and in team settings. Have a vaild Driver's License Ability to exercise good judgment with a strong attention to detail
Physical Demands:
Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to frequently move supplies of up to 50 pounds Able to bend, kneel, stop, kneel, walk up to 8 hours per day Must be able to carry a 5 gal backpack sprayer Able to manage a crew of 3-4 employees Must be able to work in various terrains, including hillsides. Must be able to tolerate various weather conditions while working outside
Work Environment:
Exposed to moving mechanical parts. Regularly performing outside duties in various weather conditions.
