Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m - 3:30 p.m. On call hours as needed.
Location:
In-person in Newington, CTSUMMARY

Responsible for performing general maintenance service and repairs as directed by supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESPerform minor general maintenance service and repairs throughout the plant in the areas of plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical or vehicle servicing as directed.

Perform preventive maintenance as directed.

Assemble and/or repair racks. Assemble office furniture and cubicles.

Operate snowplows, forklifts, and lifts, as directed.

Be available off hours when needed to tend to company emergencies (roof work, snow removal, sprinkle pipe break)Maintain production standards. Report any production, quality, or safety problems to the supervisor immediately.

Comply with company rules and regulations.

Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.

Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve the operating efficiency of the department.

Keep the manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.

Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCETrade school plus 1-2 years experience in general maintenance service and repairs or equivalent.

Valid drivers license and clean driving record COMPETENCIESAbility to use hand and power tools, such as:

Standard and metric wrenches and socketsScrewdriversElectric meter (check voltage/amperage)SawsDrillsElectric sander/grinder WeldersAbility to operate snowplows, snow blowers, shovel snowAbility to operate forklifts and liftsAbility to operate company vehiclesComfortable with heights 25-30 feet (change lamps/ballasts, run wires)
