Role Description This full-time, on-site Handyman and Maintenance Worker role is based in Bridgeport, CT. The role is responsible for performing routine building maintenance, including minor repairs to plumbing, electrical fixtures, carpentry, and general facility upkeep. Daily tasks may include inspecting common areas, addressing work orders, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with vendors for specialized repairs when needed. The worker will also maintain grounds and outdoor areas, assist with room setups for program activities, and ensure that tools, equipment, and supplies are organized and in good working order. This position works closely with program staff to support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. Qualifications Experience with general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. Skills in using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively. Ability to perform routine inspections, identify issues, and carry out preventive maintenance tasks. Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple maintenance requests. Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment in residential and common areas.
