MAJOR FUNCTIONS

This is semi-skilled manual work involving maintenance and repair of City facilities and buildings. Work is performed under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Responsible for the daily repair and maintenance of City grounds, parks, and facilities. Sets up rental facilities and buildings. Conducts all phases of custodial duties including general cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning restrooms, washing windows and floors. Identifies and reports vandalism and safety concerns. Operates City's internal communication (radio) system. Performs other non-essential duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of practices, methods, techniques, and equipment used in the cleaning and maintenance of municipal facilities and buildings. Operation of janitorial equipment and related tools, and occupational hazards. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees, vendors and the general public is essential. The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service skills. Graduation from High school or G.E.D. Prefer successful candidate will have at least one (1) year experience in janitorial cleaning and maintenance.

SCHEDULE

40 hours per week, including nights and weekends.

HIRING RATE

$35,859 Annually.
