Job Description

Maintenance Assistant Schedule:
Monday-Friday with on-call responsibility every other weekend. Unlike many maintenance positions, your work directly impacts the quality of life of those we serve. By helping maintain our buildings, grounds, and equipment, you play an important role in creating a place our residents are proud to call home. Under the direction of the Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining facility grounds and assisting with general maintenance services throughout the facility. This includes preventative maintenance, repairs, painting, carpentry, basic electrical work, and other duties necessary to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanics, carpentry, electrical, painting, and general maintenance repair work. Minimum of one (1) year of related experience preferred. Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, diagrams, and schedules. Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet maintenance and work order demands. Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision. Must possess patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly and disabled. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Must be capable of performing the essential job functions and physical requirements of the position. Responsibilities Assist in maintaining the facility's buildings, equipment, and grounds. Perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety inspections. Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner. Assist with painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repair projects. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Support facility emergency preparedness and maintenance response efforts as needed. Participate in the facility's on-call rotation and respond to maintenance emergencies when scheduled. Ensure compliance with facility policies and applicable safety regulations.
