$23 - $25 per hour Job Summary Sun Harbor is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Port Charlotte, FL. In this role, you will support the Maintenance Director in ensuring our facility remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Assist and take direction from the Maintenance Director in daily operations. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on handrails, windows, walls, ceilings, flooring, and other facility components. Support maintenance of HVAC systems, emergency lighting, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems. Maintain building and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment. Assume supervisory duties in the absence of the Maintenance Director. Provide exceptional customer service to residents and families, fostering a welcoming and caring atmosphere. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience , preferably in a healthcare or similar environment. Ability to work independently while following directions and feedback. Proficiency in basic repairs and facility maintenance. Willingness to learn and adapt to new maintenance practices. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions related to cleaning and maintenance procedures. Strong attention to detail, with a focus on safety, sanitation, and organization.
