WORKS VARIED HOURS INCLUDING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS

This position is considered an "Essential Position" for the purpose of Emergency Management. Emergency duties will be assigned as needed. This position requires 24 hours a day, 7 days per week availability during City of Port St Lucie emergencies, as determined by City Administrators, Emergency Manager or City Officials. Performs sodding, seeding, trimming, edging, mulching, Verti cutting, aerifying, topdressing, fertilizing and similar work in parks and other City grounds. Performs litter control functions; cleans restrooms; sets up picnic and other areas. Must be able to operate vehicles with trailers to load/unload large turf equipment. One (1) year as a Maintenance Worker I for a municipal or county Parks & Recreation Department is required. Three (3) years of grounds maintenance experience is required. One (1) year of experience in the operation and routine maintenance of moderately heavy trucks or similar equipment is required. A comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Parks Maintenance Worker III

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma is required.

Two (2) years as a Maintenance Worker II for a municipal or county Parks & Recreation Department. Four (4) years of grounds maintenance experience required. • Possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance of a clean driving record are required, with the ability to obtain a valid Florida driver's license within 30 days from the date of hire. Parks Maintenance Worker II

CDL Class B driver's license required. Ability to obtain a Certification in Green Industry Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the state of Florida within nine (9) Months from the date of hire.
