Job Overview We are seeking a proactive, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance / Day Porter to join our team and assist with the day-to-day upkeep, cleanliness, and general maintenance of our properties. The ideal candidate will have experience performing a variety of basic building maintenance and repair tasks, including painting, lighting replacement, minor plumbing repairs, flooring repairs, pressure washing, and general property upkeep. This position also includes maintaining common areas and exterior grounds to ensure the property remains clean, safe, functional, and presentable at all times. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently, identifying maintenance issues, and completing routine repairs in a timely and professional manner. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the property. Replace damaged or non-working light bulbs, light fixtures, switches, and other basic components when appropriate. Perform interior and exterior painting, including wall preparation, patching, touch-ups, and minor drywall repairs. Complete minor flooring repairs and address damaged flooring as needed. Perform basic plumbing repairs, including repairing or replacing toilets, sinks, faucets, fixtures, and other minor plumbing components. Identify and report plumbing leaks, water damage, electrical concerns, or other maintenance issues requiring specialized contractors. Conduct routine inspections of common areas, offices, exterior areas, and other property facilities to identify maintenance or safety concerns. Maintain cleanliness of common areas and exterior spaces, including removal of trash, leaves, and debris. Operate hand tools, power tools, blowers, pressure washers, and other maintenance equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with minor door, lock, cabinet, ceiling tile, wall, and hardware repairs. Perform basic preventive maintenance to help reduce equipment and property deterioration. Set up, move, or remove furniture, equipment, and other property items when required. Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and proper working condition. Promptly report significant repairs, safety hazards, property damage, or conditions requiring a licensed contractor or outside vendor. Respond to routine maintenance requests and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a professional appearance and attitude while interacting with tenants, residents, vendors, and visitors. Perform other general maintenance, porter, and property-related duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, facilities maintenance, handyman work, or a similar position preferred. General knowledge of basic plumbing, painting, drywall repair, flooring, lighting, and minor building repairs. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, pressure washers, blowers, and general maintenance equipment. Ability to troubleshoot basic maintenance problems and determine when professional or licensed service is required. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify maintenance and safety concerns. Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and complete tasks efficiently. Dependable, punctual, and able to respond professionally to maintenance requests. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform physical work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and working indoors and outdoors for extended periods. Ability to safely use ladders and perform routine maintenance work at reasonable heights. Basic understanding of workplace and property safety procedures. This position is ideal for a reliable and motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining properties in excellent condition. The Maintenance / Day Porter will play an important role in ensuring our buildings, common areas, and exterior spaces remain clean, safe, functional, and professionally maintained.
