Maintenance Helper Reports To:

Maintenance Manager / Supervisor Summary The Maintenance Helper is responsible for ensuring that any unused MHE (Material Handling Equipment) is charged and operational. This position will also be given additional tasks and duties as needed. Essential Responsibilities Ensure Forklifts that are not in use are charged/charging Assist the Maintenance Mechanics/Technicians with as needed Responsible for maintaining logs, reports and any other administrative work that may be assigned Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment to performing duties Perform general housekeeping around your work areas Must work safely at all times and comply with all safety policies and procedures Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of tools, common equipment and devices Knowledge of general maintenance process and methods Ability to understand and follow directions as given Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to work in all weather conditions Use miscellaneous office equipment (calculators, computers, FAX machines & copiers) Requirements High School diploma or GED 1-2 years minimum level of experience in a similar position Strong physical condition and strength Ability to lift/move 70lbs Ability to work at elevated heights Must wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment Travel 0% - 5% Licensing/Certification/Registration Powered Industrial Truck Certification Work Environment & Physical Requirements Warehouse and distribution center environment Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs Ability to climb and work at elevated heights while following safety protocols Use of hands, tools, and fine motor skills on a regular basis
