Position Purpose:

Maintain and repair equipment along with the facility, perform preventive maintenance on the same.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain, repair, and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems (e.g. HVAC and Plumbing) and other hotel/condo equipment. Reviewing maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders to prioritize and schedule work. Troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctioning mechanical systems and equipment. Inspecting the property to identify potential and current needs. Performing preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis. Servicing the hotel/condo's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters. Completing maintenance logs. Maintaining the building exterior if not serviced by a contractor (e.g. lawn care, painting). 2. Performs tasks at a professional level of capability that requires journey worker knowledge in a trade commonly used in hotel/condo engineering and facilities. 3. Keeps track of supplies and parts and informs the supervisor when needed. 4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

Previous demonstratable experience at journey worker level for 2 years in at least one trade commonly used in hotel/condo engineering department.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent education or experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Must have the ability to effectively carry out daily duties at a professional level and maintain records, files, and inventories in a manner acceptable to the Chief Engineer. Able to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets, manuals, blueprints, logbooks, written procedures, and policies. Must be available for all required shifts.

Outside Contact:

Moderate - working with guests, clients, and vendors.

Level of Supervision:

Minimal - must be able to work independently. Reports directly to the Department Supervisor and or Chief Engineer the work status and conditions of assignments on a daily basis.

Licenses or Certificates:

Valid driver's license.

Safety Equipment/Tools/Office Equipment:

Computer, hand and power tools, ladder, man-lift, and lockout tag-out system.

Desirable Qualifications:

Journeyman. Experience in a hotel, resort, or facilities preferred.
