Your Role As a Maintenance Worker II, you will perform skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs throughout Sertoma Star facilities. All work must be completed in accordance with local building codes, OSHA regulations, agency policies, and applicable safety standards. Responsibilities Performing preventative maintenance and routine building and equipment inspections. Diagnosing maintenance concerns and completing repairs efficiently. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of inspections, repairs, materials, and completed work. Repairing or replacing electrical devices, outlets, switches, and plumbing fixtures. Troubleshooting plumbing and sewer-related issues. Performing general carpentry, painting, and miscellaneous building repairs. Reviewing and responding to assigned maintenance e-tickets using a computer or mobile application. Prioritizing service requests and completing assigned work within established timelines. Operating an agency truck for pickups, deliveries, and special projects. Moving office and residential furniture as needed. Completing snow removal, light landscaping, and seasonal grounds maintenance. Responding to emergency maintenance or security concerns, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Participating in the department's on-call rotation. Serving as a backup to the Maintenance Manager when needed. Assisting with the coordination of maintenance projects and outside vendors when assigned. Maintaining a clean and safe workplace by following safety procedures and proper material-handling practices. Using required personal protective equipment and reporting unsafe conditions. Completing all agency-mandated training within the required timeframes. Maintaining compliance with licensing, funding, accreditation, and state and federal requirements. Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of college, technical education, or completion of a recognized skilled-trades training program preferred. At least five years of relevant experience in general maintenance and general building systems required. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical repair, carpentry, preventative maintenance, and general building repairs. Demonstrated ability to identify maintenance concerns, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs independently. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, and measuring devices. Ability to use practical mathematics and maintain accurate records of completed work. Strong judgment, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple assignments with minimal supervision. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and mobile maintenance applications. Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and an acceptable motor vehicle record. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred. Ability to participate in an on-call schedule and respond to emergencies during nights, weekends, and holidays. Benefits Generous paid time off 13 Paid holidays
