Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Building Services Specialist provides custodial and maintenance support to the interior and exterior of the building, parking lots, common areas and building structure and equipment; involvement in safety inspections, working with outside vendors as well as performing day-to-day resolution of job tickets requiring basic maintenance skills. This position requires overall custodial and maintenance knowledge and light trouble shooting skills in HVAC, carpentry, equipment, and tool usage, electrical and plumbing repairs.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Has knowledge of DCFS, Health Department, NAEYC requirement of building and programs Performs routine and preventative maintenance tasks Completes all assigned work orders Keeps Building Services Manager informed of issues and work requirements Conducts rounds of the building and grounds as instructed each day to identify work issues and ensure that required maintenance is performed in areas of: Provide set-up service meetings and events, hangs banners and supports special requests for functions (e.g., electrical power as needed).
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds. 3-5 years experience in building custodial and/or maintenance roles Strong work ethic, with service oriented style and good communication skills Experience/knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing as well as all around handy-man skills. Able to listen and then follow directions Computer skills necessary
Pay:
$17.50 per hour
