Job Description
Essential Duties
- Perform routine facility maintenance and minor repairs, including replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, tightening fixtures, and addressing other general building maintenance needs.
- Perform routine daily mail and package deliveries and pickups, including USPS correspondence along with any other carriers, between Maple Leaf Farms locations and other designated destinations.
- Conduct and document monthly inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency exit lighting, and Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) using Safety 101 to support compliance with company safety requirements.
- Assist maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs involving equipment, machinery, plumbing, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure.
- Maintain company grounds and exterior areas through mowing, trimming, landscaping, watering, snow and ice removal, and other seasonal grounds maintenance activities as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas, common areas, facilities, and exterior spaces through sweeping, mopping, cleaning, waste removal, and other general housekeeping activities.
- Assist with the inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and general upkeep of company pool vehicles.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lawn and groundskeeping equipment, and other equipment necessary to complete assigned job responsibilities.
- Assist with preventive maintenance activities and routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Properly handle and dispose of used oil, fluorescent lamps, batteries, and other maintenance-related waste in accordance with company procedures.
- Support maintenance personnel and other departments with facility, grounds, equipment, and general operational needs as assigned.
- Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe working condition.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable procedures while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Assist the Live Production Department as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Abilities, and Education Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Relevant maintenance or technical training is beneficial.Experience:
1-3 years of experience in general maintenance, grounds keeping, or related field is preferred but not required. Knowledge and skills may also be acquired through applicable work experience and on-the-job training.Technology:
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company systems necessary to complete assigned work and maintenance documentation.Language:
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with team members, supervisors, and other departments.Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs safely and effectively.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, lawn care equipment, and other equipment required to perform assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to assist skilled maintenance personnel with preventive maintenance, repairs, and facility improvement activities.
- Ability to perform groundskeeping, general cleaning, snow removal, and other seasonal maintenance activities.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to identify and communicate maintenance and safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Ability to organize assigned work and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently with appropriate guidance and effectively as part of a maintenance team.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions, safety procedures, and established work practices.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities associated with maintenance and groundskeeping work.
- Valid driver's license required with a motor vehicle record that meets company standards for operating company vehicles.
