Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilties:
Performs maintenance of buildings pertaining to upkeep and repairs as needed. Completes electrical and HVAC repairs as assigned and qualified. Oversees the waste water treatment plant (WWTP) daily operations according to Kentucky state regulations. Operates and maintains equipment as needed. Performs manual labor on an as needed basis. Operates light and heavy equipment as needed. Performs weekly and weekend "rounds" duties on rotational schedule. Responds to multi-level emergencies on a 24/7 basis as needed. Assists in burial details in Mount Saint Joseph Cemetery. Demonstrates ability to perform research on equipment (specifically for HVAC and WWTP equipment), seek appropriate approvals for purchase, order, and install. Follows all safety regulations per OSHA and company standards. Completes all annual safety training as required. Ensures good housekeeping/cleanliness standards are kept within all sections of the maintenance department for safety and insurance purposes. Keeps up to date on regulations for HVAC and WWTP and ensures safety standards are met Project a professional image and provide outstanding service to our staff, guests, and sisters. Possess skilled knowledge and certification(s) in maintenance and one or more trades listed above, or the ability to obtain required certification(s). Demonstrate ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, etc Physically perform manual labor for extended periods in hot or cold conditions. Withstand and manage constant standing, walking, bending, lifting and carrying. Maintain awareness of safety issues and OSHA including, but not limited to, cuts, burns, falls and communicable diseases. Keep commitments, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards. Organize and execute around multiple priorities. Communicate effectively, verbally and written. Cooperate and collaborate as a member of a team. Demonstrate excellent listening skills and ability to follow detailed instructions. Safely use multiple types of tools, apparatus, and equipment. Work days, some evenings and some weekends if/when required. Attend meetings, training events, and service/trade school courses, classes and/or workshops, which may include occasional travel. Exhibit strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Exhibit strong attention to detail skills. Embrace and demonstrate on an ongoing basis the Ursuline Sisters core values and mission. Promote positive staff relations and treat all staff, vendors, guests, and sisters with dignity and respect.
Skills and Abilities:
The ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. The ability to grasp and lift up to 50 pounds. The ability to read, recall, write, and understand information. The ability to work under moderate pressure The ability to manage multiple tasks. Education, Training, and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Certified or licensed in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, waste water treatment and/or HVAC At least five (5) years of prior maintenance experienced. Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
