Job Description:
The Office of Capital Planning & Maintenance is seeking a federal aid recipient for student employment. This position will be funded by federal work study dollars; only students that receive financial aid awards can be considered for this specific role. Please see below the specific duties and responsibilities of the position.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Perform technical activities in support of Environmental Health & Safety Office programs throughout the campus. Reports to the Environmental Health & Safety Compliance Manager. Assists the Environmental Health & Safety Officer with maintenance of the college's universal waste, hazardous waste, fire extinguisher and recycling programs. Collect and inventory universal waste, such as bulbs, batteries and small electronics. Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspections. Perform area inspections. Enter data from inspections and inventories into respective databases. Assist the Environmental Health & Safety Officer with ongoing general safety and environmental compliance projects. Provide clerical support to the Environmental Health & Safety Office as needed. Other duties as assigned by the Capital Planning and Maintenance Staff.
Requirements:
Must be able to work well both in a team setting and independently. Schedule availability must be flexible. Ability to multi task while providing excellent customer service to internal and external constituents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be a full time student at Fitchburg State University. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to perform above duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Additional Information:
This is a student only posting and you must have Federal Work-study money allocated to you in your financial aid package. Shift will vary based on student schedules and the pay is $15 per hour. Fitchburg State University is an equal opportunity employer.
