Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Specialist Job Overview We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Specialist for our full-time resort position. You will ensure guest satisfaction by keeping our buildings, amenities, and landscapes beautiful and safe. Your core duty is creating and running a strict preventative maintenance schedule to stop issues before they affect a guest's vacation.

Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities Preventative Maintenance:

Design and track a daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance schedule for guest rooms, common areas, and equipment.

Resort Groundskeeping:

Maintain pristine lawns, garden beds, pathways, and outdoor recreation spaces through trimming, weeding, and debris clearing.

Guest-Room & Facility Repairs:

Perform small repairs including minor plumbing (unclogging drains, fixing leaks), electrical (changing bulbs, and carpentry.

Cosmetic Upkeep:

Patch drywall, touch up paint, repair fencing, and fix minor wear-and-tear to keep the resort looking brand new.

Rapid Response:

Turn over room maintenance issues quickly to minimize downtime and resolve guest complaints immediately.

Vendor Liaison:

Monitor complex systems (HVAC, large commercial systems) and coordinate with specialized external contractors for major repairs.

Stock & Inventory:

Manage and organize the maintenance workshop, tracking inventory for tools, hardware, paint, and landscaping supplies.

Qualifications & Skills Experience:

3+ years in hotel, resort, or multi-family residential property maintenance preferred.

Technical Skills:

Solid handyperson skills across basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall repair.

Scheduling Ability:

Proficient in tracking tasks via digital maintenance software, spreadsheets, or logbooks.

Hospitality Mindset:

Excellent communication skills with a polite, helpful attitude when interacting with resort guests.

Physical Demands:

Capacity to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Schedule Flexibility:

Willingness to work a full-time schedule that may include weekends, holidays, or on-call rotations based on resort occupancy.
