Job Description

Maintenance Trades Helper Altus Technology Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Trades Helper to support maintenance, repair, fabrication, installation, and field service activities for a U.S. Navy mission at NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field (WOLF) in St. Inigoes, Maryland. The Maintenance Trades Helper will work alongside skilled trades personnel and technical staff to support a variety of industrial and maintenance activities associated with C5ISR system integration, equipment installation, facility support, vehicle maintenance, and other mission-related work. Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist skilled trades personnel with maintenance, repair, installation, fabrication, and modification activities.
  • Prepare work areas, tools, equipment, and materials for assigned tasks.
  • Assist with the installation, removal, relocation, and modification of equipment and assemblies.
  • Support material handling, equipment movement, and staging activities.
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance and other industrial support activities as required.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Assist with drilling, cutting, grinding, sanding, fastening, and other basic shop or maintenance activities.
  • Support sheet metal, welding, painting, finishing, rigging, and other trades-related activities as directed.
  • Assist with equipment foundations, mounting hardware, cable assemblies, and other installation components.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Follow technical instructions, drawings, manuals, safety procedures, and established work practices.
  • Assist with inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Properly handle tools, equipment, materials, and Government property.
  • Comply with all applicable safety, security, OPSEC, and information protection requirements.
  • Support emergent maintenance and field service requirements as needed.
  • Perform other related duties in support of mission requirements. Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen unless otherwise waived by the Government.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within the required timeframe.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, construction, mechanical, industrial, fabrication, facilities, automotive, or a related trade is preferred.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools and power tools is preferred.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and safely perform hands-on work.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required.
  • Ability to work in industrial, shop, warehouse, and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with skilled trades personnel, technicians, engineers, and other members of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
  • Dependable, motivated, and willing to learn new technical and trade skills.
