Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team at the Durand Area School District as a Maintenance professional. This full-time position involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of school facilities through regular maintenance, repairs, and improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a safe and clean environment for students and staff. Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school buildings, grounds, and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs and safety hazards.
  • Assist in the setup and takedown of equipment for school events and activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and supplies.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform necessary repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and district policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a preventive maintenance program.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in building maintenance, repairs, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance practices.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Background check and drug screening may be required.
