Job Description

REPORT TO
Head of Maintenance
LOCATION
Currently located at the Willis Early Childhood Education Center, Kingsford, Dickinson County, with services provided throughout Dickinson and Iron Counties
SALARY & BENEFITS
$16.00-18.00/hour based on related experience and maintenance capabilities; Paid time off of 17 days per year and 10 paid holidays per year
QUALIFICATIONS/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Dimploma or equivalent Kneeling, bending, walking, and lifting. This position requires being able to lift up to 50 lbs. Driving may be necessary for this position which would require a valid driver's license. Ability to drive all maintenance vehicles, including trucks, tractors, and snowplow. Ability to solve problems and finish an assigned task when working alone. Ability to prioritize and follow through on assigned work orders in a timely manner. Ability to work under pressure and withstand physical stress Ability to work with people of all age levels. Good prior work record regarding attendance, punctuality, dependability, positive attitude, and cooperation with other personnel.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Custodial work assisting the District with basic custodial duties which includes cleaning of buildings and non-skilled maintenance duties supporting the Head of Maintenance.
OVERVIEW OF DUTIES
Including but not limited to the following:
Custodial Work:
Basic custodial duties which includes cleaning all area of building(s).
Routine Upkeep:
Changing light tubes, ballasts, and burnt-out bulbs.
Basic Repairs:
Fixing loose door handles or cabinets doors, unclogging minor sink drains, and mending or replacing damaged ceiling tiles.
Cosmetic Work:
Patching drywall holes, basic painting, and removing graffiti.
Preventative Care:
Make recommendations for the purchase of supplies and equipment needed in the care and maintenance of the school plant. Swapping air handling and ventilation filters. Bringing district vehicles for routine maintenance.
Event Set-Up:
Moving, assembling, and dismantling furniture or equipment for school functions.
Maintain Grounds:
Mowing grass, tree trimming, landscaping, snow removal, and general cleaning of grounds.
