MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST

The City of Warren is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Specialist for Stilwell and Joseph Coach Manor (Senior Housing). The Maintenance Specialist works in conjunction with the Director of Operations-Maintenance in performing major and minor, inside and outside maintenance of Stilwell and Joseph Coach Manor. This position shall be exempt from Civil Service as it relates to appointment. Appointed individual shall serve at the will of the City of Warren Housing Commission. This position will be a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday shift from 8:30-5:00pm.

Requirements:

• High school graduation or G.

E.D. equivalent. o Diploma or official, SEALED transcripts

REQUIRED

at the time of application

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working within apartment/housing communities.
• General building and grounds maintenance including irrigation repairs.
• Knowledge in HVAC, Painting, drywall, plumbing & electrical repairs.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Applicant must be able to get to the facility in a very timely manner and have a valid driver's license.
• Will be required to share in the 24 hour on call responsibility of the housing complex at the discretion of the Director of Operations-Maintenance.
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Knowledge of and ability to complete full vacant turn processes, including drywall, painting, caulking and grouting required.
• Experience with windows, doors, appliances, faucets, garbage disposals and door lock repairs and replacements as well as carpentry, ceramic tile installation.
• Open to change and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Experience operating snow removal equipment including but limited to plow truck operation.
• Must have a valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in the State of Michigan, with a chauffeur's endorsement.

o Driving record must meet City standards for insurability.

Pay rate:

$49,265/year - $55,203/year based on certification, skill and previous experience. Excellent benefit package includes health, dental and life insurance, 401K plan, paid vacation and sick time.
