The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety of our apartment community by performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks. This position requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests. As a Maintenance Technician at Village Gate Apartments, you will contribute directly to resident satisfaction by ensuring all facilities and equipment are functioning optimally and the property remains in excellent condition. You will collaborate closely with property management, maintenance supervisor and other team members to prioritize tasks and uphold our high standards of living. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general repairs within a dynamic and supportive environment. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs to ensure the functionality and safety of apartment units and common areas. Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently to maintain high levels of resident satisfaction. Conduct regular inspections of property facilities and equipment to identify potential problems and implement preventative measures. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or replacements as needed. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and inventory of supplies and equipment. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all maintenance work performed on-site. Assist with setup and preparation for apartment turnovers, including cleaning, repairs, and ensuring readiness for new residents. Support property management staff with emergency maintenance situations and after-hours calls. Requirements Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role in residential property maintenance, preferably in the real estate industry. Strong technical skills in plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, carpentry, and general repairs. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, management, and team members. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Availability to respond to after-hours emergency maintenance requests as required. Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance standards related to maintenance and property management. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certifications are a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
