Performs inspections on electrical repairs such as switches; faucets, sewers, plumbing, equipment, pumps, check valves, heating and ventilating systems.
Paints building interiors and exteriors, furniture, cement, and other materials and items; pours and finishes concrete.
Estimates materials, labor, and time needed for projects; operates light automotive equipment to travel to facilities throughout the Installation and to transport materials, furniture, and equipment.
A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Ability to: prepare estimates of time, materials, and labor; work from plans and specifications; work with limited supervision; follow oral and written instructions; form and maintain effective working relationships with others; provide supervision, training, and assistance to others as required; read chemical labels, read safety data sheets (SDS).Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels.
Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced handyman and lawn care abilities.
Must understand basic principles of electricity, plumbing, A/C, carpentry, concrete, paint, drywall and small engines.
Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
Valid Driver's License.
GSA Drivers License.
High School/GED Diploma.
Perform other duties as required that may involve working overtime, weekends, flexible hours and holidays.
The ability to read and write the English language sufficiently to understand written work orders and instructions.

Job Description
General Maintenance Worker:
Under general supervision, performs semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks; and performs related duties as required. Incumbents in this class perform maintenance duties for assigned buildings and related facilities, furnishings, and equipment. The required duties may include painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, cement work, heating, roofing, and related work. Incumbents may work independently, under supervision as a craftsworker, or as a leadworker over others to accomplish specific projects.General Duties and Responsibilities:
Repairs structures; builds and installs partitions, and shelves; repairs furniture and equipment; installs floor coverings, acoustical ceiling tiles, and window glass; repairs roofs, floors, doors, locks, and related items.Performs inspections on electrical repairs such as switches; faucets, sewers, plumbing, equipment, pumps, check valves, heating and ventilating systems.
