Job Description
We, at LPFP - Salisbury, a Leggett & Platt company, are searching for a Maintenance Helper to join our Maintenanceteam to help support our Carpet Underlay business. We have been manufacturing carpet underlay for over 22 years and are considered a full-scale recycler. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives. As a Maintenance Helper you will have the opportunity to assist the maintenance department and/or the maintenance mechanics by performing specific or general duties of a lesser skill of the trade with repairing and maintaining the machinery, equipment, and facilities. This work will help sharpen your skills in all areas of maintenance. You may also perform other tasks as assigned. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring that the machinery and facility runs efficiently. The team you will be working with collaborates to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner. So, what will you be doing as a Maintenance Helper? Assist the maintenance mechanics engaged in installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance in the assigned area. Assist maintenance mechanics in dismantling machinery or equipment using common hand, power, and industrial tools to examine parts for defects and repair or replacement. Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders/requests and checklists. Yard maintenance including mowing, weed eating and bush trimming Building repairs and maintenance Maintain clean and organized work area. Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor. To be successful in this role, you'll need: High school diploma or equivalent Must have good communication skills. Must be able to read, write, and do advanced math. Must be detail oriented and well organized. Must be able to change from one task to another frequently. Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds. Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools. Maintain equipment and do basic repairs as needed. Available to work on required Saturday's.
