Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Porter to join our dynamic team. This vital role ensures the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of our facilities, creating a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and clients alike. As a Porter/Maintenance Worker, you will play a key part in maintaining the operational excellence of our premises through proactive cleaning, custodial duties, and basic maintenance tasks. This position offers an energetic work environment where your efforts directly contribute to the smooth functioning and positive atmosphere of our organization. Duties Perform thorough cleaning and janitorial duties across various areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces to ensure a pristine environment. Conduct routine custodial tasks such as trash removal, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold hygiene standards. Assist with floor care activities including buffing, polishing, stripping, and waxing to maintain high-quality flooring throughout the facility. Support facilities maintenance by addressing minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution. Execute industrial cleaning tasks when necessary, utilizing appropriate equipment and cleaning agents to handle specialized cleaning projects. Support residential painting projects or touch-ups as needed to improve facility aesthetics. Maintain cleanliness of storage areas and ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and properly stored. Qualifications Prior experience in cleaning, janitorial work, custodial services or facilities maintenance is highly preferred. Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and floor care procedures such as buffing and stripping is advantageous. Experience with industrial cleaning or residential painting is a plus. Ability to operate basic maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety standards. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
