This role requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends, especially around services, holidays, and special events.

Schedule:

Flexible hours; weekend work required; additional hours during Jewish holidays and special programs. Responsibilities Clean and maintain offices, classrooms, sanctuary, social hall, kitchens, restrooms, and common areas (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, trash/recycling) Set up and break down rooms for services, meetings, and events Monitor and restock supplies Maintain interior and exterior appearance, including entrances and walkways Inspect facility and report maintenance/safety concerns Assist with light maintenance Open/close and secure the building per schedule Help create a welcoming environment for all Qualifications Custodial/facilities experience preferred Able to lift up to 50 lbs; stand, bend, climb stairs, and do physical work Reliable, punctual, able to work independently Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays Ideal Candidate Friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and a team player who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe space — while respecting the synagogue's mission and confidentiality.
