Custodian/Maintenance WorkerOverview We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Custodian/Maintenance Worker to help maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning facility. This position plays an essential role in ensuring our buildings and surrounding areas remain welcoming and sanitary for employees, guests, and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and be comfortable performing a variety of custodial and basic maintenance tasks. This role requires someone who is dependable, proactive, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and facility care. Responsibilities Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, break areas, and other common spaces to ensure a safe and pleasant environment. Operate commercial cleaning equipment, including vacuums, floor buffers, scrubbers, and other maintenance tools. Properly handle, store, and use cleaning supplies, chemicals, and sanitation products while following all safety guidelines. Perform routine facility maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, painting, fixture replacements, and general upkeep. Remove trash, sweep, mop, dust, sanitize, and maintain assigned areas on a regular schedule. Inspect facilities for potential safety hazards and report maintenance issues promptly. Safely lift, carry, and move equipment, supplies, and other materials using proper lifting techniques. Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain compliance with sanitation standards. Provide support with additional facility maintenance tasks as needed. Qualifications & Experience Previous custodial, janitorial, or building maintenance experience preferred. Experience using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies is highly desirable. Knowledge of proper chemical handling and workplace safety procedures required. Basic maintenance skills, including minor repairs, painting, and general facility upkeep, are a plus. Strong understanding of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain attention to detail. Professional attitude with strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with staff and visitors. Ability to safely perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
