In this versatile role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality across various buildings within the NY and NJ region. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in custodial services, basic maintenance, and customer service while supporting the smooth operation of our facilities. This position comes with a van, therefore, you must have a valid drivers license. Responsibilities Perform cleaning duties across multiple areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to uphold high sanitation standards. Handle janitorial tasks using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers, ensuring floors are well-maintained and safe. Assist with custodial responsibilities, including chemical agent handling following safety protocols to ensure proper sanitation and safety. Conduct light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, and facility upkeep to support the overall condition of the property. Safely perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move supplies or equipment as needed. Support other team members by floating between departments or locations to provide additional assistance where needed. Skills Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services with a strong understanding of commercial cleaning procedures. Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, polishing, and maintaining various flooring surfaces. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools. Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence. Strong manual handling skills with experience in heavy lifting and safe lifting practices. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach when interacting with staff or visitors. Basic facilities maintenance knowledge including minor repairs and general upkeep tasks.
