GENERAL PURPOSE

The City of Canal Fulton is seeking a Part-Time City Lands and Buildings Maintenance Employee to do general maintenance and mowing throughout the city at various Canal Fulton owned properties (refer to responsibilities of position below). The individual will work under close supervision of the City Manager.

SCHEDULE

Must be available to work morning/afternoon/evenings (Monday -Friday), Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and special events. Days/hours are subject to change.

$17.68/hr Requirements of the job include: Maintain a valid driver's license Be able to operate maintenance equipment including but not limited to: pickup truck with trailer, riding mowers, push mower, weed trimer, edger, hand tools, etc. High School diploma or higher Pass a criminal background check and drug screening Responsibilities of the position include: Perform various maintenance duties throughout the city of Canal Fulton Maintain City Hall including but not limited to: light bulb replacement, painting, grounds upkeep, debris and snow removal from all entry ways Perform basic equipment maintenance as needed Mow/ maintain city-owned properties including but not limited to: City Hall, downtown properties, fire stations Work with Parks to mow satellite properties such as but not limited to: water plant, water waste plant, water towers, etc. Apply mulch to various locations throughout the city as directed by the Service Director Plant and maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, etc. Empty downtown trash cans Cut/trim trees and brush as necessary Assist with snow removal/ Shovel and salt sidewalks Ensure all city buildings have ice melt Paint city owned properties when needed Assist with asphalt patching throughout the City Assist with leaf removal from the city Other duties as assigned by the Service Director

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 80 pounds). Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, running, or crawling. Tasks may involve extended periods of time outdoors with extended periods of time standing and/or walking.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Tasks are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature, and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, animals/wildlife, and other outdoor conditions, etc.
