Overview We are seeking a motivated Facilities Services Technician to join our team and ensure the safety, functionality, and maintenance of our facilities. Position Summary The Facilities Services Technician is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments across Neighborhood Alliance facilities. This position primarily serves the Child Enrichment Center in Lorain and The HUB at Neighborhood Alliance while supporting other agency locations as needed. Responsibilities include custodial services, grounds maintenance, transportation of agency items and donations, and general facility support.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
N/A Essential Job Functions:
Custodial Services- Clean and sanitize offices, classrooms, common areas, high touch areas (door handles, light switch plates, doorframes, handrails), restrooms, kitchens, and other assigned areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Restock restroom and custodial supplies.
- Entry doors and windows should be washed and kept clear of debris.
- Maintain cleanliness in accordance with agency health, licensing, and safety standards.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or repair needs promptly to site supervisor
- Identify and consult with other supervisors, staff, and client members about general operation or areas of concern.
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and agency policies.
- Clean and disinfect blood, bodily fluid, vomit, and other potentially infectious material spills using approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and procedures in accordance with OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standards and agency policies. Facility & Grounds Maintenance
- Complete the agency's Building Safety Checklist as scheduled and promptly report safety hazards, maintenance needs, repair concerns, and security issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with unclogging drains and toilets as needed
- Remove litter and debris from agency properties.
- Shovel snow from sidewalks, entrances, and walkways, and apply salt or ice melt as needed to maintain safe access.
- Assist with seasonal outdoor maintenance such as basic landscaping tasks, including weeding, light trimming, and maintaining landscaped beds. Transportation & Agency Support
- Operate a Neighborhood Alliance vehicle as required to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Use a personal vehicle for agency business when necessary; mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with agency policy.
- Travel between multiple agency locations during the workday, primarily the Child Enrichment Center in Lorain and the Administration Building in Elyria.
- Safely operate agency vehicles for work-related duties.
- Pick up donated items from community donors.
- Transport supplies, furniture, equipment, donations, and other materials between agency locations as needed.
- Load and unload supplies and donations safely. General Facilities Support
- Assist with moving offices, classrooms, furniture, and equipment.
- Assemble, install, and rearrange office and classroom furniture.
- Support room setup and breakdown for meetings, trainings, and special events.
- Assist with minor non-licensed maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Be knowledgeable of building alarm systems and respond to emergency situations.
- Follow OSHA Standards and licensing, as detailed by supervisor
- Safely operate cleaning equipment, power equipment, and basic hand tools. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Demonstrates strong skills in: Communication, Decision-making, Leadership, and Problem-solving.
- Previous custodial, environmental services, facilities, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Operate a Neighborhood Alliance vehicle and use a personal vehicle for work-related travel as required to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and effectively manage time in a multi-site work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities while providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to communicate professionally, maintain confidentiality, and work collaboratively with staff across multiple departments and agency locations.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, agency policies and procedures, and complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, and the physical ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
