About the Position Spencer Township is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to join our Service Department as a Part-Time Maintenance Worker. This position supports the upkeep of township roads, parks, cemeteries, buildings, and equipment, helping ensure a safe and well-maintained community for Spencer Township residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repair of township roads, right-of-ways, and drainage systems Assist with mowing, trimming, and general grounds upkeep at township parks, cemeteries, and public buildings Assist with snow and ice removal operations during winter months, including plowing and salting as needed Operate and perform routine maintenance/inspections on hand tools, power equipment, and light machinery (mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, etc.) Assist with minor building and facility maintenance and repairs Load, unload, and transport materials, supplies, and equipment Assist skilled maintenance staff with larger projects as assigned Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all safety protocols and procedures at all times Perform other related duties as assigned by the Service Superintendent Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred Valid Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record required Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive bending, lifting, and standing Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Availability for occasional evening/weekend hours and emergency/storm call-ins Preferred (not required): Prior experience in grounds maintenance, construction, or public works CDL or willingness to obtain one

Working Conditions:
