Job Summary:
The Safety & Maintenance Assistant helps to ensure our community remains safe, well-functioning, and welcoming. This role keeps the residence, grounds, and equipment in excellent condition while promoting a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance, routine repairs, inspections, and visual improvements. Inspect the residence and grounds regularly to identify active and upcoming needs, and ensure areas are free of hazards. Work with outside contractors on projects, representing the community positively and professionally. Follow all safety procedures & precautions when performing maintenance services. Support community safety policies and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA. Maintain records of task progress and materials used, and aid in managing inventory. Respond promptly to resident requests and concerns.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. At least one year of maintenance experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of environmental health and general safety practices. Troubleshooting and general hands-on repair skills. Collaborative, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent needs. Technologically proficient, especially in Microsoft Office. Effective verbal and written English communication skills. Sound judgement and a strong ethical foundation in decision-making. Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
