Position:
Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities:
Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for the respective shift or area. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in setting maintenance standards. Assist in developing procedures for performing daily maintenance tasks. Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas. Perform administrative requirements (i.e., completing necessary forms, reports, etc.) and submit them to the Maintenance Supervisor as necessary. Submit accidents/incident reports to the Maintenance Supervisor on the shift in which they occur. Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to ensure the completion of assigned tasks and projects within designated timelines. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for both staff and residents. Assist in training and supervising new maintenance staff as required. Maintain open and effective communication with residents, staff, and management to address maintenance-related concerns or requests promptly and efficiently. Support the overall cleanliness and appearance of the community through regular inspections and maintenance of common areas and resident living spaces. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a healthcare setting. Good telephone skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks. Ability to adequately perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating maintenance equipment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. A caring, team-player attitude with a customer service-focused personality. Knowledge of healthcare maintenance standards, regulations, and procedures is preferred. Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management systems or software are desirable. A high school diploma or equivalent education is required. Technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields is a plus. Join us at EDEN EAST and make a difference!
