Are you looking for a permanent year-round position with 12 paid holidays? We have a solution for you! We are looking for a civilian journey maintenance/construction worker to be part of the maintenance team at the Utah National Guard at Camp Williams Billeting lodgings. In this position, you will perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance/construction general duties requiring an independent ability to organize and complete maintenance or construction projects, including technical consultation and design work.
Responsibilities :
Some of the other more specific major duties will include: Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, make adjustments, repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance on computers, vehicles, equipment, or machinery, etc.. Builds, fabricates, or repairs structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings. Welds, solders, brazes, grinds, and/or fabricates various materials. Paints, finishes and refinishes wood, metal and other materials. Performs general facility maintenance including painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, as well as general cleaning and sanitation. Performs related plumbing, mechanical, painting and pipe fitting, etc., duties. This position requires that the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if needed. You are not required to be a member of the Utah National Guard. This is a civilian position. Qualifications Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be someone that has: Experience in all aspects of maintenance/construction projects. Experience in commercial construction. Experience in running heavy equipment. Experience in facility maintenance. Thoroughness in performing maintenance tasks and attention to detail to ensure the quality of work. The ability to interact with guests in a professional and customer-friendly manner, especially if the maintenance work involves guest areas. Preference Preference may be given to those who have: Experience in heavy equipment operation. Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to maintenance and repair work.
Qualifications:
In addition to the above mentioned skill and knowledge, we would like to fill this position with a candidate that possess the following: good working knowledge of power tools such as band saws, rip saws, planers, etc. understand the principles and practices of construction. be able to follow written and/or oral instructions. knowledge on the use and maintenance on a variety of hand tools. understand principles and practices of facilities operations, maintenance, and management. be able to perform a variety of general maintenance activities. good understanding of plumbing techniques and methodology. be able to install and/or maintain sprinkling systems. good working skill on fabricating, installing and repairing structures and structural members. good understanding of welding methods and techniques. knowledge on how to install equipment, machines, wiring, or software programs to meet specifications. The candidate must have or be willing to obtain a non-commercial applicator license. A preference for experience with pressurized irrigation.

Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with hazardous chemicals, etc.
Physical Requirements:
The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects up to 100 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas.
