The Villages of Farragut, a retirement community for independent seniors, is currently seeking a Full-Time Painter/Handyman/Maintenance Assistant for our community in Farragut, TN. Job Duties /

Requirements:

The Maintenance Assistant/Handyman performs daily maintenance required to maintain community curb appeal, to turn units, complete daily work orders for residents, and support monthly preventative maintenance.

Duties include:

Experience and skill in painting interior walls and trim for apartment turns, painting interior common area spaces and some exterior areas of main building. Working knowledge of basic apartment maintenance, including basic plumbing, basic electrical, general carpentry, small appliance troubleshooting, and basic grounds maintenance. Perform daily work orders for residents in a timely manner. Examples are, but not limited to, changing light bulbs, hanging artwork, unclogging drains or toilets, installing safety bars, changing HVAC filters, connecting cable, painting, misc. minor repairs, etc. Support monthly/quarterly preventative maintenance. Ensure proper curb appeal standards are met by picking up debris on property and reporting issues to the Maintenance Director. Assist housekeeping with trash removal to dumpster as needed. Pressure wash patios or sidewalks as needed. Assist with apartment turns, to include basic cleaning, drywall repair, painting, carpet cleaning, or other rent-ready tasks as assigned. Maintain a friendly disposition with residents, families, co-workers and vendors at all times. Reports to the Maintenance Director and Executive Director. Completes other related duties as assigned. Must be trustworthy and have a responsible work ethic. Must pass drug screen and background check.

Requirements:

High School education or equivalent preferred. Must have physical ability to lift, push, pull, stoop, squat, reach, bend, stand and walk during the majority of the work day.

Hourly Wage:

$19-$22 hourly based on experience and skill level.
