Primary Responsibilities Refurbishment of furniture and fixtures within the hotel such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters. Paints and finishes furniture and fixtures if needed. Ensure basic electrical and HVAC systems are in proper working order. Checks and makes minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures. Respond in a courteous manner to guest questions, complaints and/or requests. Perform quality maintenance routines and general maintenance on property grounds. Must be in compliance with company policies and procedures and all local state and federal laws and regulations. Assist the GM in ensuring that everyone has the proper and necessary equipment and supplies to do their job by reporting any needed items. Helps conserve energy by using only equipment needed during meal periods, turning such equipment off before or after peak periods. Must have regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Upon employment all employees are required to fully comply with hotel rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per hotel standards. Completes other duties related to the hotel as assigned.
