Job Summary:

The Yard & Nursery Assistant supports daily yard and nursery operations by helping maintain plant inventory, assisting with loading and unloading materials, and ensuring the work area remains organized, clean, and safe. This role involves physical labor, including lifting heavy branches, plants, and materials, to support landscaping crews and nursery operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for reconciling daily tree inventory in accordance with company systems.
• Assist with loading and unloading plants, soil, mulch, tools, and landscape materials.
• Handle and transport heavy branches, trees, and other plant materials safely.
• Organize and maintain yard and nursery areas to ensure an orderly and efficient workspace.
• Water, prune, and care for plants in the nursery as directed.
• Assist with the preparation of materials and equipment for landscaping crews each day.
• Inspect and clean tools and equipment; report any damage or maintenance needs.
• Receive, check, and document deliveries of plants, materials, and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of yard and nursery at all times.
• Perform basic maintenance or repairs on small equipment and tools.
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required protective equipment.
• Support other team members and departments as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in landscaping, nursery, or yard operations preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform physical labor in outdoor conditions.
• Basic plant knowledge or willingness to learn about nursery care.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish.

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. The position requires frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
