Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance/Construction Worker to join our team and ensure the optimal upkeep of outdoor spaces and facilities. Duties Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, and weed control to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems with precision and safety awareness Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and identifying plant health issues using plant identification skills Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed Implement pesticide management practices following safety protocols to protect plants and surrounding environments Assist with hardscape projects such as installing or repairing pathways, patios, or retaining walls Respond promptly to maintenance requests related to grounds, landscaping, or infrastructure issues Assist with any property improvements under our construction superintendent. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience operating landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment Extensive outdoor work experience with a focus on groundskeeping, gardening, and landscaping techniques Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment like excavators for construction or landscape projects Knowledge of horticulture principles including plant identification, soil health, and pest management strategies Ability to operate irrigation systems effectively and troubleshoot common issues Familiarity with safety protocol adherence when handling pesticides, operating machinery, or working at heights (e.g., tree trimming) Experience in winter maintenance is a plus for year-round grounds upkeep Strong understanding of grounds maintenance best practices including lawn care, tree care, hardscape installation, and general facility upkeep Understanding basic mechanical and building maintenance.
