Associate Museum Director The Sophienburg Museum and Archives is hiring a contract Archives Project Coordinator for a one-year project to complete the transition into an updated archive system/space. This position will coordinate storage reorganization, collection mapping, digital finding aid development, database updates, proper archival boxing and labeling, and supervision of project helpers. The ideal candidate will be familiar with archival best practices and committed to supporting the mission and initiatives of the Sophienburg Museum and Archives Key Responsibilities- Lead the transition of archival materials into renovated stack storage
- Organize, map, and document the renovated archives space
- Review, update, and improve collection records, finding aids, database entries, and location information
- Ensure proper archival boxing, labeling, and placement of materials
- Coordinate preservation and collection management tasks
- Supervise and direct a team of helpers or volunteers as needed
- Work within Sophienburg practices, mission, and initiatives to support the museum's archival standards and long-term goals Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in History, Communications, Nonprofit/Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in project management, library and/or archive services, data management/entry, records management, administration
- Experience with archival processing, collection organization, and finding aids
- Familiarity with archival storage, preservation practices, and collection databases
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to supervise staff, volunteers, or project helpers
- Willingness to learn organization's mission, procedures, and community role
- Attention to detail and comfort working in a renovation or transition environment Key Competencies

Pay:
