Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Your expertise will help create a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all occupants and visitors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills across a variety of maintenance tasks while contributing to the overall efficiency of our facilities. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical equipment, and building interior components to ensure optimal functioning. Utilize hand tools, schematics, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters to diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently. Conduct repairs on electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and mechanical equipment following safety standards and technical specifications. Assist with facilities equipment maintenance including carpentry, painting, welding, and general building repairs to uphold safety and aesthetic standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair logs, schematics updates, and preventive maintenance schedules. Support the operation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated systems when necessary. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants and communicating clearly about repair timelines. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related fields with a strong mechanical knowledge base. Hands-on experience with electrical work, plumbing repairs, HVAC system troubleshooting and repair. Familiarity with schematics, electrical equipment repair, plumbing system maintenance, and the use of hand tools. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics to diagnose issues accurately. Knowledge of maintenance painting, carpentry, welding, and general building interior upkeep. Experience working with maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) procedures in residential or commercial settings. Strong communication skills in English for effective collaboration with team members and customers. Leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
