This entry-level role is the first step on a real career path : Maintenance Worker, then potentially Yard Worker, Tarper, Compactor Operator, Heavy Equipment Operator, and possible leadership. RDS promotes from within and cross-trains staff for higher classifications and pay — and with raises tied to both your work anniversary and our annual Teamsters contract increase, most new employees see up to four separate pay increases in just their first two years. About the Role Everything we do at RDS is guided by four priorities: Safety, Customer Service, Efficiency, and a Supportive and Accountable Work Environment. As a Maintenance Worker, you will help us live out those priorities every day, with the opportunity to grow into higher-level responsibilities as business needs allow. Skills involving customer service, mechanical aptitude, flagging/spotting, and heavy equipment operation, for example, can help as you move up the classification ladder. Full-time applicants preferred. RDS operates from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day.
Maintenance Worker duties may include:
Facility opening/closing and general upkeep Landscaping and grounds maintenance Cleaning equipment, work areas, and outdoor areas Basic mechanical support Why Work at RDS Teamsters Union Benefits (once requirements are met): 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision , and life insurance for employee, spouse, and children Teamsters Union Pension Trust (RDS currently contributes $7.45/hour)
SIMPLE IRA

Physical & Job Requirements:
Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders Ability to maintain awareness of surroundings (vehicles, people, equipment) Valid driver's license required Preferred Qualifications (but not required) — applicants with the following may be given preference: Related work or customer service experience First Aid/CPR certification Following a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be subject to post-offer employment screenings, which may include a criminal background check, pre-employment drug test, verification of qualifications, and other lawful screenings, as applicable to the position. RDS will evaluate information obtained through such screenings as permitted by applicable law. RDS has a company-wide drug and alcohol control policy. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
Pay:
From $22.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
