Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian/Maintenance Worker to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of Holy Spirit Parish and Catholic School. This vital role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks, handling custodial supplies, and assisting with minor repairs to maintain a welcoming and safe environment for staff, students, and visitors alike. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high standards of sanitation and facility upkeep. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents. Operate floor buffers, polishers, and other custodial equipment to maintain floors in excellent condition. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence. Conduct minor maintenance tasks such as painting, replacing light bulbs, and basic repairs to ensure facilities are well-maintained. Maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, offices, restrooms, and other designated spaces to promote a healthy environment. Support general facilities maintenance activities as needed to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Requirements Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and use of cleaning equipment including floor buffers. Experience handling chemical agents safely in accordance with safety procedures. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors.
