JCHC reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities for this position at any time. Position Summary JCHC's Maintenance Worker I will perform entry-level, general maintenance duties to support the safe and efficient operation of hospital facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role focuses on routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting under supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform basic plumbing repairs (faucets, drains, valves, piping)
- Complete minor electrical work (switches, outlets, lighting)
- Assist with HVAC maintenance including inspections and routine adjustments
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and document findings
- Perform general equipment repairs (beds, wheelchairs, motors, etc.)
- Maintain grounds and exterior areas (mowing, trimming, snow removal, debris cleanup)
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Follow all safety protocols, infection control, and OSHA standards
- Report complex or specialized issues to Maintenance Supervisor
- Assist other maintenance staff as needed
- Complete all mandatory/required JCHC training and/or events
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs. Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 0-2 years of general maintenance, facilities, or construction experience preferred o Basic working knowledge of: o Mechanical systems o Electrical systems o Building maintenance practices o OSHA 10 (obtain within 1 year)
- Valid driver's license Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently on routine assignments
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Willingness to learn new skills
