Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Shop Foreman to lead our heavy equipment and diesel maintenance team. In this dynamic role, you will oversee daily shop operations, coordinate repairs, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment operation, and diesel systems will drive efficiency and excellence across all service activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a team of technicians while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and operational productivity. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the diesel repair shop, ensuring timely completion of maintenance and repair tasks. Lead troubleshooting efforts using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals to identify issues with heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. Oversee the repair and maintenance of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including air brake inspections, wheel alignments, welding procedures, and heavy lifting safety standards. Manage inventory levels for parts and tools such as hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized diagnostic instruments. Mentor technicians on mechanical systems repair, electrical system repair, tire service, and equipment assembly. Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation related to diagnostics and repairs. Requirements Proven experience in dealership or heavy equipment repair environments with a strong background in diesel mechanics. Familiarity with all diesel engines including Cummins, Paccar, Cat, Volvo, Detroit, etc specifications and schematics is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with diagnostics, maintenance procedures, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC repairs. Ability to operate forklifts, tractor-trailers, cranes or other industrial equipment safely and efficiently. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills using schematic diagrams and technical manuals. Experience leading a team of service technicians or mechanics in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to coordinate tasks effectively with team members and customers. Valid certifications related to heavy truck repair, diesel engine repair, air brake systems or welding are preferred but not mandatory. Join our team as a Diesel Shop Foreman to lead with expertise!
