SA Recycling is seeking a highly skilled Shredder Operations Manager to lead our shredder facility in Phenix City. You will oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of our scrap metal shredder and downstream processing equipment. Responsibilities:
Operations Management :
Direct daily shredder production to meet efficiency and volume targets
Maintenance & Reliability :
Oversee preventative maintenance and quick resolution of mechanical issues.
Process Optimization :
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Safety Leadership :
Enforce strict safety protocols to maintain a zero-injury work environment.
Team Guidance :
Train, mentor, and schedule crew members for optimal performance
Qualifications:
Experience :
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing, operating, or maintaining scrap metal shredders.
Technical Skills :
Strong mechanical background with advanced troubleshooting abilities
System Knowledge :
Proven experience with downstream equipment and processing systems
Industry Background :
Prior experience in the scrap metal recycling industry is highly preferred
Leadership :
Demonstrated ability to manage, lead, and develop a high-performing operations team Must complete pre employment physical and Drug screen Must pass background and credit check Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) is a plus. Willingness to work in both office and outdoor yard environments in varying weather conditions.
