Scenic Hill is growing rapidly and looking for a talented Director of Asset Management with extensive solar experience to join its team. A Director of Asset Management must be a success-oriented self-starter who relentlessly pursues excellence and cost-effective solar power plant maintenance on a 184 MW+ portfolio which includes a mixture of single-axis and fixed tilt ground-mount commercial scale solar arrays. Responsibilities include financial optimization of the portfolio, preventative and reactive maintenance, quality control, commissioning, optimization and coordination. Critical skills include concise and effective communication, and on-schedule and on-budget task delivery maximizing system uptime, energy production, customer satisfaction and asset value while ensuring compliance with safety, contractual, utility and regulatory requirements. The position serves as the primary point of coordination among customers, maintenance providers and utilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Asset Performance Management Monitor and manage a portfolio of solar assets ranging in size from 200kW to 26MW. Utilize monitoring and SCADA platforms to identify performance issues. Analyze system production against modeled expectations, weather-adjusted forecasts, and contractual guarantees. Develop and implement corrective action plans to improve portfolio performance. Track and report key performance indicators. Lead annual portfolio performance reviews and identify optimization opportunities. Operations & Maintenance Oversight Manage preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities across portfolio. Coordinate and oversee third-party O&M contractors. Review maintenance reports, inspection findings, and corrective action recommendations. Ensure timely resolution of inverter, monitoring, communications, transformer, and balance-of-system issues. Manage vegetation control, site housekeeping, security systems, and environmental compliance activities. Maintain spare parts inventories and replacement equipment strategies. Coordinate equipment warranty claims and manufacturer support activities. Develop O&M standards and operating procedures that promote system reliability and safety. Financial and Contract Administration Manage annual operations and maintenance budgets for the solar portfolio. Review and seek approval of O&M invoices, monitoring costs, vegetation management expenses, and service contracts. Track operating expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies. Support insurance claims, warranty recoveries, and contract enforcement efforts. Safety and Compliance Promote and enforce a culture of safety throughout all operations and maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies. Conduct periodic site audits and contractor safety reviews. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions when necessary. Maintain documentation required for inspections, audits, and compliance reporting. Reporting and Portfolio Management Prepare quarterly and annual operational reports. Develop portfolio dashboards and performance summaries for executive leadership and asset owners. Track asset health, equipment trends, and recurring maintenance issues. Maintain comprehensive records. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Construction Management, Licensed Journeyman Electrician or related field is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and industry experience may be considered. Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar operations or solar asset management. Experience managing commercial and industrial distributed generation solar assets preferred. Experience with fixed and tracking ground-mounted solar systems. Demonstrated experience managing third-party contractors and service providers. Technical Knowledge Solar photovoltaic systems and distributed generation technologies. Monitoring platforms and SCADA systems. Inverters, transformers, switchgear, and electrical distribution systems. Energy production analysis and performance diagnostics. O&M best practices for commercial solar assets.
